Communications Hub
Welcome to our communications hub
“For the eFREIGHT 2030 project, how we communicate internally between ourselves as members, and with our external stakeholders, is key to our success. We’ve created this communications hub to provide all members – and your own comms teams – with easy access to all the eFREIGHT 2030 assets, messaging and approvals process in one place.” Michael Boxwell.

The eFREIGHT 2030 brand
How to use the eFREIGHT 2030 brand, logo usage, colour palettes, brand usage and other related assets, providing direction and guidance to ensure our branding is consistent across the board.

Consortium Comms
Our communications plan sets out the framework for all e-FREIGHT 2030 communications, to give direction to all media, online, internal marketing, publications and public relations communications activity.
Through our centralised marketing activities, with Consortium members partnering under a shared vision, we will disseminate information to the wider industry and beyond, to build a reputation for innovation and success.
We will: cascade core messages, leveraging existing relationships and audiences. In addition, the eFREIGHT 2030 communications will support the individual marketing efforts of consortium members, amplifying consortium activity, building awareness and engagement to drive new commercial opportunities. We will ensure that all consortium members are equally and effectively represented in our communications, and members will be listed in alphabetical order.
-
We will:
Use the most appropriate channels of communication to reach our wide variety of stakeholders. - Keep stakeholders informed on progress (findings and release trial data), successes and announcements (world’s first country-wide dedicated electric HGV charging network; first to regularly charge e-HGVs and e-trailers using MCS at scale).
- Build relationships with key audiences.
- Raise the profile of sustainable freight transport with end-users, creating differentiation and commercial opportunities for e-FREIGHT 2030 fleet-operators.
How we communicate our messages:
- Media and PR: to promote e-FREIGHT 2030 consortium and Partner brands to key audiences and opinion formers.
- Website: main online presence, regularly updated with news and views, a communications hub for all stakeholders.
- Social media: LinkedIn as the primary social channel to build a network that promotes brand engagement, communities and collaboration.
- Events: open days hosted at consortium member sites across the UK, to showcase sustainable freight transport, share ideas and ambitions with key audiences.
- Briefing events with the industry’s leading trade organisations: Road Haulage Association, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
- Internal communications to keep all consortium members updated about developments in a timely manner.
Scope and Focus of Consortium Communications

Consortium Communications
“Nothing About Us Without Us”
All communications generated by the Consortium will be developed and released through the eFREIGHT 2030 comms team.
When referencing Members in news releases, interviews, and speeches, the Consortium will observe the following protocol:
- Listings
Members will be listed in alphabetical order within each listing group. A group may consist of general Members, hauliers
- Member Communications
Any public communication by a Member about the Consortium, and any use of Consortium trademarks or service marks, must be approved in writing by the Marketing team to release. The Consortium will respond within five business days to such requests. To ensure accuracy, the Consortium reserves the right to require changes to such communications.
Exceptions to this are all “approved for Member use” Consortium materials. These include descriptions of the Consortium that Members may use in explaining the Consortium and its initiatives or services. The eFREIGHT 2030 boilerplate copy is available here for use on Press Releases.
Please tag @efreight2030 and @transportgovuk and @innovateuk in social media posts relating to the project to allow us to share your posts as appropriate.
Innovate UK ask that members fully reference the Zero Emission HGV & Infrastructure Demonstrator programme (where possible in full without acronyms) and DfT/IUK when producing any marketing material. Please use the Funded by UK Government and Innovate UK logos (available to download, with full brand guidelines, in Media Centre). Where possible, please share any marketing material relating to the project with Isabella Panovic – Innovate UK UKRI Isabella.Panovic@iuk.ukri.org before publication.
- Inaccurate Information
If inaccurate information is published or broadcast concerning the Consortium, its intellectual property, or relationships, the Consortium will vigorously act to clarify its position.
